Bramdean Construction was founded in 2007 by Russell Shellard, who brings over 40 years of hands-on experience delivering exceptional residential projects. Since then, our family-run business has evolved into one of the area's most respected specialists in high-end residential projects — trusted by homeowners, architects, and consultants alike.

Based in Haslemere and proudly serving Surrey, Sussex, and Hampshire, we’ve built our reputation on quality, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to craftsmanship. 

We offer a professional, multi-trade service through our dedicated in-house team and a trusted network of local specialists — many of whom have worked with us exclusively for years.

Every Bramdean project begins with a conversation and ends with a home you love. Here's what you can expect from the moment you get in touch to the day we hand over the keys, and beyond.

  • 2. Site Visit & Consultation

    Meeting your team

    Russell Shellard, our founder, visits your site in person. With over 40 years of hands-on experience, he brings immediate and practical insight, discussing feasibility, material options, and the best approach for your specific property and brief. This is also your chance to ask anything.

  • 3. Design Collaboration & Scoping

    Shaping the project

    We work closely alongside your architect, structural engineer, and any other consultants to ensure designs are both beautiful and buildable. We contribute practical guidance early in the design process, helping to avoid costly surprises and refine specifications before work begins.

  • 4. Detailed Quotation

    Full transparency

    We provide a clear, fully itemised breakdown of costs, so you know exactly where every pound goes. No hidden charges, no vague allowances. Staged valuations and accurate forecasting keep you confidently in control of your budget throughout.

  • 5. Contract & Programme

    Setting the plan

    Once agreed, we put everything in writing, including: scope, timeline, programme of works, and communication plan. We shape our reporting to suit you, whether you prefer regular site meetings, detailed written updates, or direct contact with your project lead.

  • 6. Construction & Management

    The build

    Our experienced in-house team and long-standing network of trusted local subcontractors get to work, under the close supervision of Russell and our site management team. Russell regularly visits every site, ensuring the highest standards are maintained at every stage. No challenge is too complex: we take a proactive, solutions-focused approach and adapt as the project evolves.

  • 7. Completion & Handover

    The finish line

    As the project reaches completion, we carry out a thorough snagging process to ensure every detail meets our exacting standards, from structural integrity through to the finest finishing details. We don't consider a project finished until you're completely happy.

  • 8. Aftercare & Ongoing Support

    Beyond the build

    Our relationship doesn't end at handover. We remain available for any questions, adjustments, or follow-on work and are proud that many of our clients return to us for future projects, or recommend us to friends, family, and fellow professionals.
